Tenders Are Invited for Project Name Rehabilitation Center Playground Renovation (opens in new tab, PDF) Project Number 906017.01 Project Description Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract are invited for the following work:
This project will remodel and upgrade the playground area at the Rehabilitation Center, totaling approximately 13,000 square feet.
The scope of work includes the demolition of existing gates, fences, playground equipment, and curbs; tree removal; grading the field to maintain a maximum of two-percent grade throughout the playground; installation of new playground equipment, resilient flooring, shade structures, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant concrete ramps, concrete paving, benches, and play sand; and additional trees and plants. Utilities will be relocated to avoid conflicts with the new equipment installation. The playground equipment will be purchased by the Intervention Program and will be received and installed by the Contractor.
The plans depict the following alternates:
Alternate 1: Add to scope, all irrigation and all planting, see Sheet L2.01 and L3.01. Alternate 2: Add to scope, decorative interior steel fence and footing, see Sheet L1.01, item (F-1). Alternate 3: Add to scope, low railing and footing, item (F-3). Alternate 4: Installation of 4'-0" high black vinyl coated 1" mesh chain link fencing (F-2) AND GATE (G-3), in lieu of decorative interior steel fence (F-1). Alternate 5: Add to scope, replace existing chain link perimeter fencing with new 6' high chain link (F-3) and gate (G-4). Alternate 6: Add to scope, domestic cold water to water table equipment and hose bib per Sheet P1.01. Alternate 7: Add to scope, CMU wall at toy storage and hose bib, see items (W-1) and (SA-1) on L1.00. Alternate 8: Add to scope of purchase and install of play equipment including footings, from "Goric Marketing Group" items (5A, 5B, 5C). Alternate 9: Add to scope of purchase and install of play equipment including footings, from "Percussion Play" items (3A, 3B, 3C, 3D). Alternate 10: Add to scope of entrance gate, pilasters, and donor dedication sign, item (G-2). Alternate 11: Add to scope, installation and concrete footings for shade structure over the sand/water area. (1-R). Alternate 12: Add to scope, installation and concrete footings of play items (1-D) and (1-E). Refer to Sheet L1.00 for item descriptions. Alternate 13: Add to scope, concrete footings for shade structures (1-M), and play equipment items (1-A) through (5-C). See Sheet L1.00 for listing of equipment to include in alternate. Alternate 14: Add to scope items in rubberized surface graphics legend on Sheet L1.32. Alternate 15: Add to scope storage of material for four (4) months.
