Tenders Are Invited for Specialized Services for the Technical Structuring, Comprehensive Design and Permit Management of the Cidca of the Umip
CAF - the development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean - is looking for a specialized supplier to develop the necessary technical studies, the comprehensive design of the project, the construction plans and the management of the permits required by the competent authorities for the Center for Research and Development in Applied Sciences (CIDCA) of the International Maritime University of Panama (UMIP), so that the project is prepared for its future bidding and construction.
Through its interventions, CAF seeks to contribute to the construction of resilient and modern education systems that ensure that all children, adolescents and young people, regardless of their origin, have opportunities to explore their interests, fully develop their potential and contribute to the sustainable growth and social equity of their countries.
For the past 20 years, CAF has financed education programs and projects through loans in various countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. These initiatives have focused on structuring and implementing comprehensive interventions aimed at better addressing the region's educational challenges. Furthermore, through technical cooperation and regional initiatives, knowledge generation, and strategic alliances, CAF has fostered educational transformations and innovations in numerous countries throughout the region.
In line with this approach of capacity building, modernizing educational environments, and promoting innovation, the International Maritime University of Panama (UMIP), within the framework of the Comprehensive Strengthening Plan submitted to CAF, has identified the construction of the Center for Research and Development in Applied Sciences (CIDCA) as a priority project. This infrastructure is envisioned as a strategic space to strengthen research, applied innovation, and technology transfer in areas related to the country's maritime, logistics, and marine-coastal sectors.
In this context, and with the purpose of moving towards the realization of a relevant, sustainable academic and scientific infrastructure aligned with the capacity development objectives promoted by CAF, it is necessary to hire a specialized provider to develop the necessary technical studies, the comprehensive design of the project, the construction plans and the management of the permits required by the competent authorities, so that the project is ready for its future tendering and construction.
