the Afldc-2 Project Seeks to Strengthen the Capacities of the Eleven Participating African Countries, Including Sierra Leone, to Eliminate, Reduce and Control Persistent Organic Pollutants (pops) and Mercury Pollution Sources Using Best Available Technologies / Best Environmental Practices (bat/bep). the Key Activities of the Project Are Aligned with the Countrys Commitments Under the Stockholm and Minamata Conventions. the Project Will Support the Development of Public-private Engagement and Partnership, Specifically Adapted to the Circumstances of Sierra Leone, to Enable the Environmentally Sound Management of Chemicals and Waste While Generating Commercial and Financial Benefits. the Project is Considered Essential to Progressing the Achievement of the Governments Commitments Under the Chemical Conventions.
