General procurement notice South Sudan-ethiopia-djibouti Transport Corridor Project
The Republic of South Sudan has received a grant from the African Development Fund to finance the
Multinational: South Sudan- Ethiopia- Djibouti Transport Corridor Project- Phase II Components
in South Sudan that include: Design Update of 280 km Kapoeta-Boma-Raad road, Trade
Facilitation studies and Capacity Building to the Ministry of Roads and Bridges, and South Sudan
Roads Authority (SSRA).
2. The Project Development Objective of the project is to improve transport connectivity in the three
countries in the Horn of Africa region. The specific objective of the project is to bridge the missing
links on the transport corridor, to provide an efficient and effective transport system that promote trade
and regional integration. The project will ultimately contribute to social and economic development,
poverty reduction efforts and to mitigating fragility by stimulating economic opportunities in the
project area, leveraging on the synergies and complementarities from activities supported by others.
B. Component 3: Logistics, Transport and Trade Facilitation:
(i) Transport and trade facilitation study to support the development of trade and social infrastructure and
needs of the population along the corridor in South Sudan
C. Component 4: Institutional Support, Skills Development and Capacity Building:
(i) Design Update for the Kapoeta-Boma-Raad road in South Sudan; and
(ii) Institutional and Human Resource capacity development and Project Management for Ministry of
Roads and Bridges (MRB) and South Sudan Roads Authority (SSRA).
4. Procurement of goods (including non-consultancy services), works and the acquisition of consulting
services, will be carried out in accordance with the Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded
Operations, dated October 2015. Specific Procurement Notices/Solicitation Documents are expected
to be available starting July 2026
