Tender description : General procurement notice : Massawa to Tesseney Road and Coastal Area Infrastructure Development Project the Principal Objectives of This Project Are to Improve Eritrea’s Domestic and Regional Transport Connectivity Required to Facilitate Economic Development. Specifically, the Project Seeks to Undertake the Update of Studies for Massawa to Tesseney Road and Coastal Area Infrastructure Development That Would Position the Country to Enhance the Readiness of Bankable Projects. This Shall Entail Undertaking the Economic Analysis - Including Assessing Opportunities, Trade and Regional Integration; Technical Studies Update and the Environmental and Social Assessment, Climate Change Analysis; as Well as Gender Considerations All Aimed at Developing a Bankable Intervention to Prepare the Project and Attract Financing for Its Implementation The Government of the State of Eritrea has received funds from the African Development Fund to finance the Study Update of the Massawa to Tesseney Road and Coastal Area Infrastructure Development Project. Eritrea is in the Horn of Africa and is bordered by Ethiopia, Sudan, Djibouti and the Red Sea, and shares maritime borders with Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Eritrea’s strategic geographic location along the Red Sea and in the Gulf of Aden gives it an opportunity to benefit from regional integration by leveraging its geographic position. The principal objectives of this project are to improve Eritrea’s domestic and regional transport connectivity required to facilitate economic development. Specifically, the project seeks to undertake the update of studies for Massawa to Tesseney road and coastal area infrastructure development that would position the country to enhance the readiness of bankable projects. This shall entail undertaking the economic analysis - including assessing opportunities, trade and regional integration; technical studies update and the environmental and social assessment, climate change analysis; as well as gender considerations all aimed at developing a bankable intervention to prepare the project and attract financing for its implementation The project includes the following components: (a) Component I - Feasibility study for Massawa to Tesseney Road and Costal Area Infrastructure development (b) Component II- Project Management
